Finding the right shade concealer at the supermarket or drugstore can be extremely hard – due to the lack of good professional advice – but that does not mean you cannot find great concealers there.
Catrice’s Clean ID High Coverage Concealer is the perfect example. Its pretty liquid, waterproof formula blends easily and quickly in skin, makes me look wide awake, stays put well throughout the day and feels comfortable. (It contains glycerin and squalane.) And all of that at 3,99 €.
You can build up its coverage: one layer gives medium coverage. The more layers you add, the more covering it becomes. On its website, Catrice tips that you can let the formula dry for a bit on your skin before blending it in so you get even more coverage.
Good to know if you are allergic/sensitive to fragrance: the formula is fragrance-free. One (big) disadvantage though: this concealer only comes in 3 shades. The brand may want to work a bit more on making it more inclusive: if you have very pale or very dark skin, this concealer will probably not work for you. I use 010 Neutral Sand, which might be a tad too light in summer – I use self tan from time to time – but was perfect in spring.

Goede beautyproducten hoeven echt geen aanslag op je bankrekening te zijn. Deze beauty bargain is budgetvriendelijk, gewoon goed en betekent meer geld op de ‘Ooit koop ik een Kelly van Hermès’-spaarrekening.
De juiste tint concealer vinden in de supermarkt of bij de drogist kan een opgave zijn – er is nu eenmaal geen professionele hulp zoals in een goede parfumerie of brand store als M.A.C of Bobbi Brown – maar dat wil niet zeggen dat je er geen goede concealers kan vinden.
Deze Clean ID High Coverage Concealer van Catrice is een mooi voorbeeld. De vrij vloeibare, waterproof formule blendt snel en mooi in de huid, doet me er uitgeslapen uitzien, blijft mooi op zijn plek doorheen de dag en voelt comfortabel aan. (Ze bevat glycerine en squalane.) En dat alles aan € 3,99.
De dekking van deze concealer is opbouwbaar: één laagje dekt medium. Hoe meer laagjes, hoe beter hij logischerwijs dekt. Catrice tipt op zijn website dat je de formule ook even kan laten opdrogen op de huid voor je ze blendt zodat ze nog beter dekt.
Fijn nieuws voor wie allergisch is aan parfum: deze formule is fragrance-free. Het enige nadeel: de concealer is beschikbaar in slechts 3 tinten, waardoor erg bleke en erg donkere huiden heel waarschijnlijk niet aan hun trekken komen. Ik gebruik 010 Neutral Sand. Die tint is misschien een tikje té licht in de zomer, nu ik wat meer kleur heb door zelfbruiner, maar ze was perfect in de lente.
