You might not win the prize for most original Christmas gift ever when you offer a loved one a good body lotion, shower product or hand cream in pretty packaging but it always comes in handy and will sure please him/her/x. Take these three limited editions and two new launches for instance.
The Body Shop’s Joy & Jasmine Hand Wash, 7 €
Which house hold would not be happy with a nice hand wash these days? This limited edition smells of jasmin, orange blossom and rose.
Cîme’s Nuts about You Wash & Scrub, 16,70 €
Belgian skincare brand Cîme recently added this shower gel with environment-friendly, gentle scrub beads to its range. (The beads are made of wood-derived cellulose.) Its formula, based on soap nuts, is gentle enough to use every day.
Good to know if you have a bit more money to spend: there is also a gift box with this shower gel and the Cîme hand cream.
L’Occitane’s Rich Body Lotion 15% Shea Butter, 25 € for 250 ml
This body lotion with fair-trade shea butter, honey and calendula promises to prevent itchy winter skin. I cannot find this limited edition on the webshop but there is also a limited edition that smells of figs and tangerines.
Rituals’ Serendipity 3-Phase Shower Oil, 9,50 €
A shower oil not only gently cleanses skin, its oils also nourish skin and help prevent dehydration. Rituals’ new line contains this 3-phase shower oil with ten plant-based oils like coconut oil, sweet almond oil and camelia oil that promise to keep skin nourished and soft. Its scent is soft and flowery.
For the allergic people amongst us
You want to buy a nice body product for someone who is sensitive/allergic to fragrance? Pharmacy brands have a lot of great fragrance-free bodylotions on offer but their packaging is not always quite there. Pretty to look at and nice for your skin is the Christmas edition of Kiehl’s Crème de Corps (39 € for 400 ml), a nice fragrance-free bodylotion with squalane, cocoa butter and beta carotene. French illustrator Marylou Faure got to decorate iconic Kiehl’s products this year.
Je hebt weinig cadeau-inspiratie voor je (schoon)moeder/(schoon)zus/collega/…? Met fijne lichaamsverzorging kan je weinig kwaad doen en ze komt altijd wel van pas.
De prijs voor origineelste cadeau krijg je er heel waarschijnlijk niet mee, maar er is helemaal niets mis met een goede bodylotion/douche- of badschuim/handcrème in leuke verpakking. Die komt altijd van pas, toch? Zoals één van deze drie limited editions of twee nieuwkomers.
Joy & Jasmine Hand Wash van The Body Shop, € 7
Tegenwoordig een musthave in elk huishouden en dus altijd welkom. Deze limited edition-hand wash ruikt bloemig, naar jasmijn, oranjebloesem en roos.
Nuts about You Wash & Scrub van Cîme, € 16,70
Het Belgische Cîme breidde zijn gamma recent uit met deze douchegel met milieuvriendelijke, zachte scrubdeeltjes. (Die bestaan uit cellulose dat uit hout is afgeleid.) De formule op basis van zeepnoten is zacht genoeg om elke dag te gebruiken.
Mag het wat meer zijn? Cîme stopte deze douchegel samen met zijn handcrème ook in een gift box.
Rich Body Lotion 15% Shea Butter van L’Occitane, € 25 voor 250 ml
Deze bodylotion met fairtrade karitéboter, honing en calendula belooft een trekkerige winterhuid tegen te gaan. Ik vind hem op de webshop niet meteen terug, maar er is ook een limited edition die naar vijgen en mandarijn geurt.
Serendipity 3-Phase Shower Oil van Rituals, € 9,50
Douchen met een olie reinigt de huid niet alleen zacht, de oliën voeden de huid ook en helpen zo uitdroging tegengaan. Rituals stopte deze driefase doucheolie in zijn nieuwe Serendipitylijn. Die bevat tien plantaardige oliën waaronder zoete amandel-, jojoba-, kokos- en cameliaolie die de huid beloven voeden en zacht houden. De geur is zacht en bloemig. (Er is trouwens ook een lichaamsolie die me heerlijk lijkt.)
Voor de allergische mensen onder ons
De krijger is allergisch/gevoelig aan parfum? Goede producten in de apotheek genoeg, alleen zitten die niet altijd in de meest feestelijke verpakking. Check daarom de kersteditie van de Crème de Corps van Kiehl’s (€ 39 voor 400 ml), een fijne ongeparfumeerde bodylotion met onder meer squalaan, cacaoboter en bètacaroteen. De Franse illustrator Marylou Faure mocht dit jaar de illustraties van de Holidaycollectie maken.
