Sommige geuren doen denken aan vakantie en katapulteren je meteen naar exotische stranden, Provençaalse marktjes en zonovergoten Amalfitaanse dorpjes: Tiaré tahiti, oranjebloesem, vijgen, frisse citrusvruchten, frangipanibloesem, kokosnoot… Deze vier nieuwkomers maken je weekje Belgische kust of Ardennen alvast een stuk exotischer.
Soleil des Vignes Eau Fraîche van Caudalie, € 26,40 voor 50 ml
De nieuwe Eau Fraîche van Caudalie is niet zo fris als zijn voorgangers, wel een stuk zwoeler en zoeter. De geur is geïnspireerd op een uitstapje naar Cap Ferret, maar ik denk eerder aan een strand met palmbomen een stuk verder weg. Niet mijn ding, wél het ruiken waard als je van exotische zonnecrèmegeurtjes en monoï-olie houdt. Met bittere sinaasappel, mandarijn, kokosnoot, petitgrain, jasmijn en vanille.
Goed om weten: er zijn ook een bijhorende douchegel en een aftersunlotion.
Extrait de Cologne Gingembre Exquis van Roger & Gallet, € 59,95 voor 100 ml
Het Franse merk heeft weer een nieuwe moderne cologne klaar. Parfumeur Nathalie Lorson stopte gember in al zijn facetten in een flesje. “Ik heb het rinse citruskarakter van gember gebruikt als topnoot, dan de bloemige accenten in het hart en uiteindelijk het gourmand kantje van de wortel als basisnoot.”
De geur is sprankelend fris met in het begin een vleugje Lutticitroensnoepje (die zure snoepjes met vloeibare vulling) en wordt dan bloemig fris. Met sinaasappel, mandarijn, pompelmoes, gemberbloesem, jasmijn, oranjebloesem, iris en gember natuurlijk.
Er zijn ook een bodylotion en douchegel.
Acqua Allegoria Orange Soleia van Guerlain, € 114 voor 125 ml
Een tripje naar Sicilië en zijn citrusboomgaarden. Bloedsinaasappel speelt een hoofdrol (wat niet zo heel vaak gebeurt in de parfumwereld) en zorgt voor een warmere citrusgeur. Met ook nog munt, roze bessen, bergamot, tonkaboon en houtnoten. Dit parfum zou ook wel wat mannen kunnen bekoren.
Acqua Colonia Matcha & Frangipani van 4711, € 22,50 voor 50 ml
Deze limited edition, geïnspireerd op theerituelen (er is ook een geur met groene thee en bergamot), zou geruststellend moeten werken. Frangipanibloemen hebben blijkbaar een ontspannend en humeur boostend effect. Een zachte, tropische geur voor wie van exotische parfums houdt, maar het ook graag subtiel en niet in your face (of nose) houdt.

Soleil des Vignes Eau Fraîche by Caudalie, 26,40€ for 50 ml
Caudalie’s new Eau Fraîche is not as fresh as its siblings, it is a lot sweeter and more sultry. The fragrance is inspired by a trip to Cap Ferret but it makes me think more of a beach lined with palm trees a whole lot farther away than France. It is not my cup of tea but if you like monoi oil and exotic sunscreen fragrances, you will like this one. With bitter orange, tangerine, coconut, petit grain, jasmine and vanilla.
Good to know: there are also a shower gel and aftersun lotion that smell like coconut.
Extrait de Cologne Gingembre Exquis by Roger & Gallet, 59,95€ for 100 ml
The French brand adds another modern cologne to its range. Perfumer Nathalie Lorson bottled all the facets of ginger. “I used the citrus character of ginger as a top note, put its flowery accents in the heart and its gourmand smelling root in the base.”
The fragrance is fresh and sparkling and its opening notes remind me a bit of Lutti lemon sweets (the sour ones with the chewy filling) before the fragrance turns flowery fresh. With orange, tangerine, grapefruit, ginger blossom, jasmine, orange blossom, iris and ginger of course.
There are a bodylotion and shower gel, too.

Acqua Colonia Matcha & Frangipani by 4711, 22,50€ for 50 ml
This limited edition, inspired by tea rituals (there’s a green tea and bergamot one as well) is supposed to be comforting. Frangipani flowers have a relaxing and mood boosting effect, apparently. A soft, tropical fragrance for those of you who like an exotic fragrance but prefer it to be subtle and not in your face.
