Goede beautyproducten hoeven echt geen aanslag op je bankrekening te zijn. Deze beauty bargain is budgetvriendelijk, gewoon goed en betekent meer geld op de ‘Ooit koop ik een Kelly van Hermès’-spaarrekening.

Ik ben nog nooit een Action binnengestapt, maar toen ik de vegan make-uplijn van de keten een tijdje geleden op de instastories van een beautycollega zag voorbij komen met de mededeling dat ze onder de indruk was van de concealer en oogschaduw aan érg scherpe prijzen, was ik geïntrigeerd. (Een goed beautyproduct aan een laag prijsje ontdekken blijft geweldig.)
Dus testte ik een paar producten, met dank aan het pr-kantoor. En voor mij sprong er één product echt uit: de Lip Liner.
Ik kreeg de kleur Muffin toegestuurd, een mooi roestig nude roze, samen met de bijhorende matte lipstick. (Handig voor wie graag een exact matchende lipliner en lipstick wil.)
De Lip Liner is erg goed gepigmenteerd, lekker crèmig waardoor hij vlot over je lippen glijdt en comfortabel aanvoelt én blijft goed zitten. Ik vind lipstick erover niet echt nodig omdat de kleur van de liner an sich al zo rijk is. (Ik draag graag lippenbalsem met daarover lippotlood als “lippenstift”.) Bijwerken na de lunch kan nodig zijn, maar is dat héél erg aan € 0,99 per potlood?
De matte lippenstift vind ik ook best goed, maar het theelichtachtige geurtje ervan vind ik wat minder.
Nu hoor ik je al denken: als make-up zo goedkoop is, zijn de ingrediënten ervan waarschijnlijk onbetrouwbaar. Nu, ik smeer nooit zomaar iets op mijn huid (zeker niet met al mijn allergieën). Dus haalde ik de INCI’s van beide producten door de Ingredient Dictionary van Paula’s Choice en elk bestanddeel is “GOOD” volgens Paula. (Dat “woordenboek” is in mijn ogen een betrouwbare bron die zich baseert op degelijk wetenschappelijk onderzoek, in tegenstelling tot de ingrediëntenlijst van EWG.)
Bonus, althans voor mij: de make-up van Max & More is ongeparfumeerd. Ik gok om de prijzen zo laag mogelijk te kunnen houden. Parfum toevoegen aan een product maakt het productieproces duurder.

Good beauty products need not cost a fortune. This beauty bargain has been tried and tested, won’t break the bank and is just good. Plus, your savings can go to your One day I am going to buy a Kelly bag account.
I’ve never set foot in an Action store but when a beauty colleague featured the vegan make-up of the chain on her Instagram stories, saying she was quite impressed with the concealer and eye shadow palette at extremely budget-friendly prices, I was intrigued. (I find discovering a good beauty product at a low price quite satisfying.)
So I tested a couple of its products, thanks to the PR company behind the brand, and to me, one product really stood out: the Lip Liner.
I was sent the colour Muffin, a pretty rusty nude pink, together with the matching matte lipstick. (Handy, you can match your lipstick perfectly to your lipliner.)
The Lip Liner is very well pigmented, very creamy so it glides smoothly over your lips and feels comfortable and it stays put well. The colour is so rich that I did not feel the need to put lipstick on top. (I like using lipbalm and then filling in my lips with lip pencil as an alternative to wearing regular lipstick.) You might have to reapply after lunch but is that really that bad at 0,95€?
I quite liked the matte lipstick as well but did not like the waxy tea light smell.
Now, some of you might wonder: if a make-up product is that cheap, its ingredients must be dodgy. Well, I’d never put something on my skin that I do not feel comfortable using on my skin, especially not with all my allergies. I checked the INCIs of both products in Paula’s Choice’s Ingredient Dictionary and every ingredient is “GOOD” according to Paula. (I find that dictionary to be a reliable choice to check cosmetics ingredients as it is based on decent scientific research, unlike EWG’s ingredient list.)
Bonus, well to me it is: Max & More’s make-up is fragrance-free. I guess because adding fragrance to a product makes it more expensive.
