A blush stick is easy to use and gives you that glow from within effect. I love these three.

I prefer a cream blush (or a liquid one) to a powder: it is easier to work with because you can simply use your fingers and don’t need a brush and you tend to get a more natural effect, as if the colour really comes from within and not from a stick.
These three blush sticks are currently my favourites, now that I had to say goodbye to my beloved Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam. (It had been open and in use for a little too long, but still remains my favourite blush.) The three formulas are fragrance-free and promise hydration and/or care in addition to a fresh colour. For me personally, adding skincare ingredients to a blush is not a huge must as it only covers (and moisturises) a small part of your face, but it’s still a nice bonus, especially if you use it on your lips too. I have been using these sticks on my lips too (sometimes on my eyes too) for a quick, fresh, monochrome make-up look.
Dior’s Stick Glow Hydrating Blush Balm Healthy Glow Effect, 39 €
This stick gives skin a transparent pink blush that you can easily build up for a more intense effect. The one pictured is 865 Pink Glow, a soft limited edition pink from a previous collection. The current make-up collection offers 725 Rose Glow, a coral pink. This blush looks beautiful on your lips, too on no make-up make-up days.
The only drawback: you do need to touch up regularly. Its creamy formula does not stay put on my cheeks all day long. But that is the advantage of a blush stick: you can easily put it in your handbag and you do not need a brush to apply it.
Huda Beauty’s Cheeky Tint Blush Stick in Baddie Berry, €, at Ici Paris XL
You can build up the colour of this cream blush beautifully from very soft to bold. I prefer to apply it directly to my cheeks and then blend it out with my fingers. But you can also apply it to a blush brush for a more intense colour effect.
The waterproof formula is very long-lasting (for a cream blush) and also contains vitamin E and lychee extract as conditioning bonuses. It does fade quicker on my lips and eyes but I find that quite logical. (And it is not being put in the market as a lip and blush and eye product.
Bonus. I love packaging in the exact same colour as that of the product itself: it is so handy to quickly pick out the right stick from your stash.

Pixi Beauty’s On-the-Glow Blush Tinted Moisture Stick in Ruby, 23,50 €, at Ici Paris XL
This is a classic within the brand. The formula contains plenty of caring and moisturising ingredients such as castor oil, vitamin C and fruit extracts. The colour Ruby looks much darker in the tube than when you apply it to your cheeks or lips. (By the way, the colour Juicy looks like a nice alternative to my Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam).
Good to know: this blush is the heaviest of the three – it weighs 19 grams – and also the cheapest.

Een blushstick is makkelijk en zorgt voor dat natuurlijke blosje vanuit je huid-effect. Ik gebruik deze drie erg graag.
Ik gebruik liever een crèmeblush (of een vloeibare) dan een poeder: makkelijker om mee te werken want je kan gewoon je vingers gebruiken en je krijgt doorsnee een natuurlijker effect, alsof het kleurtje écht uit je huid komt en niet uit een stick.
Deze drie blushsticks zitten momenteel in mijn make-uplade, nu ik afscheid heb genomen van mijn Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam, die al iets te lang open en in gebruik was, maar wel nog steeds mijn favoriete blush blijft. De drie formules zijn vrij van parfum en beloven naast een fris kleurtje ook hydratatie en/of verzorging. Voor mij persoonlijk is dat geen grote must omdat je uiteindelijk met blush maar een klein stukje van je gezicht bedekt (en verzorgt), maar het blijft een fijne bonus, vooral als je hem ook op je lippen gebruikt. Ik gebruik deze sticks ook al eens op mijn lippen (soms ook op mijn ogen) voor een snelle, frisse, monochrome make-uplook.
Stick Glow Hydrating Blush Balm Healthy Glow Effect van Dior, € 39.
Deze stick zorgt voor een transparant roze blos die je kan opbouwen. Deze op de foto is 865 Pink Glow, een zachtroze limited edition uit een vorige collectie. In de huidige collectie zit 725 Rose Glow, een koraalroze. Ook mooi op je lippen op no make-up make-updagen.
Het enige nadeel: je moet het effect wel geregeld bijwerken. Op mijn wangen blijft de crème geen hele dag zitten. Maar dat is het voordeel van blushsticks: die stop je makkelijk in je handtas en je hebt er geen borstel voor nodig.
Cheeky Tint Blush Stick in Baddie Berry van Huda Beauty, €, bij Ici Paris XL
Ik houd van verpakkingen die de kleur van het product verraden, zo handig om snel de juiste stick uit je voorraad te halen. Je kan de kleur mooi opbouwen van heel zacht tot opvallend, ik breng hem liefst rechtstreeks op mijn wangen aan en vervaag dan met mijn vingers. Maar je kan het product ook op een blushpenseel aanbrengen voor een intensere kleur.
De waterproof formule blijft erg lang zitten (voor een crèmeblush) en bevat ook vitamine E en lychee-extract als verzorgende bonussen.
On-the-Glow Blush Tinted Moisture Stick in Ruby van Pixi Beauty, € 23,50, bij Ici Paris XL
Een klassieker binnen het merk. De formule bevat véél verzorgende en hydraterende bestanddelen waaronder castorolie, vitamine C en fruitextracten. De kleur Ruby ziet er in de tube veel donkerder uit dan wanneer je haar op je wangen of lippen aanbrengt. (De kleur Juicy lijkt me trouwens een fijn alternatief voor mijn Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam.)
Goed om weten: deze blush is met zijn 19 gram nettogewicht de zwaarste van de drie en ook de voordeligste.
